Lembaga Amanah Kebajikan Masjid Negeri Sarawak Maal Hijrah Festival 1444H/2022, which had been running since July 29, came to an end today. The postponement ceremony was completed by Dato' Sri Haji Fadillah bin Haji Yusuf, Senior Minister of Public Works and Member of Parliament for Petra Jaya.

 

 

Datuk Haji Abang Abdul Wahap stated in his welcome speech that this festival is a platform to enliven the celebration of the New Year 1444 Hijrah as well as an effort to enliven the mosque. Furthermore, it is to promote a healthy lifestyle based on religious values by filling programmes focused on spirituality, family, sports, and so on.

 

He went on to say that organising this festival is an innovative and dynamic way for LAKMNS to approach the community, particularly the youth.

 

Various activities were arranged for the three days of the festival, including competitions such as badminton, tenpin bowling, marhaban, hadrah, pencak silat, and colouring competitions, storytelling, and azan for children. The exhibitions from government and private organisations, career and education kiosks are also being set up.

 

Takaful Ikhlas General Berhad, Lubuk Tiara Sdn Bhd, Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC), and Senari Synergy Sdn Bhd are among the sponsors of this festival. TV Sarawak (TVS) also took part as an official media outlet. Several agencies, including North Kuching City Hall (DBKU), Trinikens Berhad, and SPay Global, also contributed logistically and technically.

 

This postponement ceremony also included the awarding of prizes to the main winners of the various competitions held throughout the festival, as well as the awarding of prizes to the lucky draw winners.

The Sinar Syawal Ceremony was held at Baitul Makmur 2 by the Lembaga Amanah Kebajikan Masjid Negeri Sarawak (LAKMNS). This ceremony aims to commemorate the month of Syawal while also strengthening the bonds of brotherhood among Muslims.

 

 

Staff from ministries, departments, and agencies located at Bangunan Baitul Makmur 1 and Baitul Makmur 2 were invited. The ceremony, which began at 10 a.m., was attended by an estimated 2000 people.

 

YB Dato Sri Hajjah Fatimah Abdullah, Minister of Welfare, Community Welfare, Women, Family, and Child Development Sarawak, as well as the heads of government departments and agencies, were also present at the ceremony.

 

LAKMNS Honorary Secretary Tan Sri Datuk Amar (Dr.) Haji Abdul Aziz bin Dato Haji Husain, LAKMNS Chief Executive Officer Datuk Haji Abang Abdul Wahap bin Haji Abang Julai, and LAKMNS Senior Management welcomed the guests.

It was also honoured by the presence of His Excellency Tun Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib bin Mahmud, Sarawak's President, and Sarawak's Premier, the Most Honorable Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, as well as several other dignitaries.

 

 

The crowd, estimated to be over 6000 people, chanted Takbir and then prayed, led by Sahibul Fadilah Dato 'Haji Mustapha Kamal bin Haji Ahmad Fauzi, Sarawak's Chief Imam, who also delivered the sermon.

The Honorary Secretary of the Lembaga Amanah Kebajikan Masjid Negeri Sarawak (LAKMNS), Tan Sri Datuk Amar (Dr) Haji Abdul Aziz bin Dato'Hussein, Members of the Board of LAKMNS, Chief Executive Officer of LAKMNS, Datuk Haji Abang Abdul Wahap bin Haji Abang Julai, and top management of LAKMNS greeted the dignitaries.

Meanwhile, at the Kuching City Mosque, the prayers were led by Ustaz Haji Sa'anani Haji Fauzi, who also delivered a sermon.

The word of Allah in Surah Ali Imran verse 103,

"And hold fast by the covenant of Allah all together and be not disunited, and remember the favor of Allah on you when you were enemies, then He united your hearts so by His favor you became brethren; and you were on the brink of a pit of fire, then He saved you from it, thus does Allah make clear to you His communications that you may follow the right way."

 

May the institution of this mosque serve as a platform for us to strengthen Muslim brotherhood and receive blessings and blessings from Allah SWT.

The Khatam Al-Quran Ceremony was held at the Sarawak State Jamek Mosque on 30 April 2022 M / 28 Ramadan 1443H.

Fadilah Sahibul Dato Haji Mustapha Kamal bin Haji Ahmad Fauzi, Sarawak's Chief Imam, led the imam hafiz in reciting the khatamal quran. Meanwhile, the tahtim group is made up of Tadarus LAKMNS 2022M/1443H teachers and participants.

 

 

The ceremony was followed by the presentation of consolation to the imam hafiz who led the tarawih sunat prayers at the Sarawak Jamek Mosque and Kuching City Mosque as well as the handing over of "duit raya" to the tadarus participants by Yang Berbahagia Datuk Abang Abdul Wahab bin Hj Abang Julai, Chief Executive Officer of LAKMNS
