Psychology and Counseling Unit is a new unit under the Administration and Management Sector which was formally established in November 2018.
The purpose of the Psychology and Counseling Unit is as follows:
- promoting mental and emotional well-being;
- developing human capital among LAKMNS staff through a psychological and counseling approach.
The implementation of this unit is believed to generate more holistic human capital.
Knowledge and skills in using the application of psychology viewed as critical efforts to strengthen human capital.
Common issues such as work motivation, discipline, integrity, and performance need to be countered with prudence and wisdom.
Furthermore, issues like these are difficult to understand because they relate to internal factors such as attitude, values, beliefs, emotions, and thoughts.
Identification of the problems and solutions can be made through appropriate psychological approaches and the decision must be effective.
The psychology and counseling approach in developing human capital is to emphasized aspects such as development, prevention, and recovery.
The application of psychology is an activity that focuses on the individual's thoughts, behaviors, and emotions in the workplace.
The activities carried out by this unit are continuous efforts to improve human capital management.
It covers personnel assessment, personnel development, research and intervention.
Hence it can improve the effectiveness of personnel management to create a harmonious working atmosphere.
To achieve this, initiatives to develop and empower human capital to the optimum level through the application of psychology and counseling should be implemented at every level in the organization.
