PREMIER LAUNCHES MASJID JAMEK’S NEW TOWERS

Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg officiated the launching of the new tower model for the Masjid Jamek Negeri Sarawak

Today, the Premier of Sarawak, the Right Honorable Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, officiated the model of the new towers for the Jamek Mosque of Sarawak State. The launch of this model took place at the Anjung Masjid Jamek Negeri Sarawak.

The project, which is expected to begin in 2025, will involve four main towers with a height of 75 meters and two smaller towers with a height of 65 meters. These towers are designed with a green energy concept, equipped with solar panels and energy-efficient lights.

Also launched at this event was a book published by Lembaga Amanah Kebajikan Masjid Negeri Sarawak (LAKMNS) titled Menelusuri Kegemilangan (Tracing the Glory). This book contains the history and development of mosques managed by LAKMNS, namely the Kuching City Mosque and the Jamek Mosque of Sarawak State, as well as the development of LAKMNS. The book also showcases information about the transformation of LAKMNS and its achievements since its establishment.

Present at the event were the Deputy Premier of Sarawak, the Honorable Datuk Amar Haji Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, the State Secretary of Sarawak, the Honorable Datuk Amar Haji Mohamad Abu Bakar bin Marzuki, members of the LAKMNS Board, the President of the Sarawak Islamic Council, YBhg. Datu Haji Misnu bin Haji Taha, the Chief Executive Officer, YBhg. Datuk Haji Abang Abdul Wahap bin Haji Abang Julai, along with the top management of LAKMNS and several state dignitaries
