INAUGURATION OF THE NEW IRIS STUDIO 2024

February 27, 2024 – The Internet Radio Islamic Sarawak (IRIS), managed by the Sarawak State Mosque Welfare Trust Board (LAKMNS), today launched its new studio located in Baitul Makmur II, Kuching. The ceremony was officiated by the President of the Sarawak Islamic Council, Datuk Haji Misnu bin Haji Taha.

In his opening speech, Datuk Haji Misnu praised IRIS's initiative in its efforts to improve the quality of its broadcasts. He also expressed hope that IRIS would be fully utilized by Islamic agencies in Sarawak, especially in promoting their organized programs.

According to LAKMNS Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Haji Abang Abdul Wahap bin Haji Abang Julai, the establishment of the new IRIS studio is a commitment from the Sarawak Islamic Council, which has provided funding.

He stated that the establishment of this studio is also evidence of IRIS's commitment to enhancing the quality of its broadcasts. Additionally, he mentioned that since its inception in 2020, IRIS has received strong support from Islamic and public agencies, as well as non-governmental organizations (NGOs), which have shared content on the IRIS platform.

The Internet Radio Islamic Sarawak, which has been operating since 2020, is based on an Islamic infotainment concept targeting the general public as its audience. IRIS content includes contributions from Islamic agencies, public agencies, and NGOs, covering topics such as religious issues, health, finance, and other matters of public interest.
