On September 9 to 11, 2023, 40 employees of Lembaga Amanah Kebajikan Masjid Negeri Sarawak (LAKMNS) attended the Positive Team Transformation Course Series 3/2023 LAKMNS at Putra Sentosa Retreat Camp Sematan.

Participants include LAKMNS employees from various departments and divisions. This programme provides participants with information about the significance of positive changes in work attitudes, which are the most important assets in organisational development. Throughout this course programme, various group training activities with the concept of team-building have been implemented, with a focus on cooperation, communication, decision making, planning, strategic and creative thinking, leadership, and the ability to solve problems and tasks.

The course concluded with an Adjournment Ceremony, which was completed by Mr Mohamad Feisal, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of LAKMNS.

LAKMNS Chief Officers and Division Heads were also present at the adjournment ceremony.

3rd August 2023 –Forum Perdana Ehwal Islam took place at the Sarawak State Jamek Mosque, organized by the Malaysian Museum Department, in conjunction with the National International Museum Day.

Sarawak Mufti Datu Haji Kipli bin Haji Yassin, famous independent preacher Datuk Ustaz Kazim Elias, and Special Officer to the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Ustaz Mohamad Zarifi Mohamad Daud served as panellists, with Ustaz Mohd Hariri Mohamad Daud serving as moderator.

Dato Sri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Sarawak's Minister of Tourism, Creative Industries, and Performing Arts, as well as the Speaker of the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Haji Mohd Asfia bin Awang Nasar, were also present at the ceremony.

The Festival Maal Hijrah 1445H/2023 organized by Lembaga Amanah Kebajikan Masjid Negeri Sarawak (LAKMNS) closed its curtain after lasting 3 days since last July 28. The inauguration of this postponement ceremony was completed by Sarawak's Deputy Minister of Energy and Environmental Sustainability (MEESty), Dr. Haji Hazland bin Abang Hipni.

Also in presence were the Chief Executive Officer of LAKMNS, Datuk Haji Abang Abdul Wahap bin Haji Abang Julai, Deputy Chief Executive Officer Mr Mohamad Feisal bin Said, senior management of LAKMNS, and representatives from the festival's sponsors and collaboration partners.

Datuk Haji Abang Abdul Wahap stated in his welcome speech that the theme of this festival is "Sustainability for the Well-Being of the Ummah," and that this theme was chosen to support the state government's initiative in empowering environmental sustainability. He added that LAKMNS believes that this effort will at the very least raise public awareness about environmental sustainability.

Meanwhile, Dr Haji Hazland bin Abang Hipni praised the efforts of LAKMNS in organizing programs like this festival. He said it is hoped that this festival will continue to be held in the coming years and become an example to other mosques and suraus, especially throughout Sarawak.

Dr Haji Hazland also completed the event of lowering the flag as a symbol of the postponement of the festival.

11th July 2023 – Lembaga Amanah Kebajikan Masjid Negeri Sarawak (LAKMNS) today announced to organize the Maal Hijrah Festival 1445H/2023 which will take place from 28 to 30 July 2023, at the Sarawak State Mosque Jamek.

According to Datuk Haji Abang Abdul Wahap bin Haji Abang Julai, Chief Executive Officer of LAKMNS, the organisation of this festival is one of LAKMNS's initiatives that will promote the celebration of the new hijrah year. He made the remarks during a press conference held in conjunction with the Maal Hijrah 1445H/2023M Festival, which was held at the LAKMNS Gallery, Baitul Makmur II in Kuching.

He went on to elaborate that the festival's organisation is based on several goals, one of which is to serve as a platform for imparting knowledge about the new year of hijrah. This festival also serves to promote the mosque as a one-stop center, as well as to promote a healthy lifestyle based on religious values through programmes centred on spirituality, family, and sports, among other things.

He stated that this festival is also a platform for unity because it allows multi-racial communities to participate.

Malam Cinta Rasul, which will feature the famous preacher Ustaz Syed Abdul Kadir al-Joofre, the Cycling Tour, the Hijrah Run, the Career and Education Fair, and various types of competitions such as badminton, tenpin bowling, e-sports, and so on, will be among the events. In addition, LAKMNS offers some special gifts to visitors via a lucky draw.

LAKMNS also announced sponsors at this press conference, including Lubuk Tiara Sdn Bhd, Hock Seng Lee Berhad, and Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA) as diamond sponsors, and Senari Synergy Sdn Bhd as platinum sponsors. The festival's official media outlets, Internet Radio Islamic Sarawak (IRIS), TV Sarawak (TVS), and Suara Sarawak newspaper, have also been announced.

Furthermore, LAKMNS unveiled the festival's official website, fmh2023.online. Public who interested in participating in any of the organised activities can learn more about them. This portal can also be used to register for some programmes.
