14 July 2022 – The Lembaga Amanah Kebajikan Masjid Negeri Sarawak (LAKMNS) today announced to organize the Maal Hijrah Festival 1444H/2022 which will take place on 29 to 31 July 2022. The festival will take place at the Sarawak State Jamek Mosque.

According to Datuk Haji Abang Abdul Wahap bin Haji Abang Julai, Chief Executive Officer of LAKMNS, the organisation of this festival is one of LAKMNS'initiatives to enliven the celebration of the new year of migration. He made the remarks during a press conference held at the Baitul Makmur II Seminar Room in Kuching in conjunction with the Maal Hijrah Festival 1444H/2022M.

He went on to say that the festival's organisation is based on several goals, one of which is to serve as a platform for spreading knowledge about the new year of migration. The festival also aims to revitalise the mosque and promote a healthy lifestyle based on religious values through programmes centred on spirituality, family, and sports, among other things.

Malam Cinta Rasul, which will feature the famous preacher Ustaz Ahmad Rizam Ghazali, Cycling Adventure, Career and Education Exhibition, performances from the In-Team nasyid group, and various types of competitions such as badminton, tenpin bowling, e-Sport, and so on, will be among the activities that will take place. Aside from that, LAKMNS offers visitors special prizes through lucky draws.

LAKMNS also announced the official media for this festival, TV Sarawak (TVS), as well as the platinum sponsor, Senari Synergy Sdn Bhd, at this press conference. LAKMNS also unveiled the festival's official website, fmh2022.com. People who are interested in participating in any of the activities can learn more about the events. This portal can also be used to register for some programmes.
