KUCHING – Lembaga Amanah Kebajikan Masjid Negeri Sarawak (LAKMNS) has held a “Scan and Donate” Launching Ceremony on Tuesday, 25 February 2020 at 8th Floor, Baitul Makmur. The ceremony was officiated by Datuk Haji Abang Abdul Wahap bin Haji Abang July, Chief Executive Officer of LAKMNS.
At the event, the Honorable Datuk Haji Abang Abdul Wahap bin Haji Abang Julai, Chief Executive Officer of LAKMNS added that this move was also to keep in line with the Sarawak state government’s wishes of becoming a state utilising “E-Money” transactions.
“The launch of “Scan and Donate” proves that LAKMNS has no intention of being left behind in the digital world and is on the right track to becoming a renowned Islamic agency in the digital world,” he said.
He also expressed his pride that Muslims can now visit mosques to make donations without needing to carry physical cash on them. Now with just their smartphones, they can scan the QR codes and make their donations or ‘sedekah’ digitally at Masjid Jamek and Masjid Bandaraya Kuching.
It is LAKMNS's hope and commitment to continue to excel in delivering services to the community and to achieve its goal of becoming a world-class Islamic agency.
